HBCU COURAGE SCHOLARSHIP
"It takes a lot of COURAGE to attend an HBCU thousands of miles away from home."
OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of the HBCU Courage Scholarship is to provide scholarships to Chicago, senior high school students who plan to attend an HBCU. As Northern students, most HBCUs are in the South, leaving prospective HBCU students to travel across the country in order to fulfill their dreams. Cross-country moving incurs expenses families often do not consider: flight, shipping, transportation, hotel, and rental car costs.
In the desire to increase HBCU accessibility for Northern students, the HBCU Courage Scholarship is founded with the desire to grant two students a $500 grant that will provide them with money for cross-country moving expenses, including flights, shipping, transportation, hotel, and rental car costs.
